Dear Members and Friends of the Darwin Bushwalking Club,
We’re writing to share some important news about the future of our club — and to invite you to be part of shaping it.
Like many community groups, the Darwin Bushwalking Club is facing a challenge. We’re currently at risk due to a shortage of volunteers, particularly walk leaders and committee members. Without more people stepping forward, we may struggle to continue running regular walks and managing the club’s activities.
It might just be a sign of the times — people are busy, life is full, and volunteering can sometimes feel like one more thing. But we also know how much value this club brings: connection, adventure, community, and a shared love for the Top End’s incredible bushwalking experiences.
We warmly invite you to our Annual General Meeting (AGM):
📅 Date: Tuesday, 27 May
🕠 Time: 5:30 PM
📍 Location: Jingili Water Park
🍕 Pizza dinner provided!
This is a great chance to connect, share ideas, and get involved — whether that’s leading the occasional walk or stepping into a committee role. We’re welcoming nominations for President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and general Committee Members.
We want to take a moment to sincerely thank all those who have contributed over the years. Your support has kept the club going and growing.
If you’re interested in volunteering, have questions about what's involved, or just want to be part of the discussion, we’d love to see you there. Let’s work together to keep the Darwin Bushwalking Club strong and active into the future.
Warm regards,
Sam Crameri
