A more challenging trip (hot time of year, but chances to cool off in small pools) suited to fit/experienced walkers as we visit an isolated gamba patch on Red Rock Ck in the middle of Litchfield National Park. Leave Darwin Friday afternoon after work (about 4pm if possible).
Anyone can come along - new members, young or old or nationality/ international students welcome (quick registration as Parks volunteer required - we email you the form to fill out).
We'll be surveying along Mistake and Red Rock Cks for invasive gamba grass, which seriously threatens the Park's natural ecosystems. One or more experienced volunteers will be spraying a few isolated patches of gamba in this otherwise pristine area.
No camping fees, and fuel costs are subsidised (car pooling).
